Jan Kellett coordinates UNDP’s climate, disaster and energy external work, responsible for partnerships, advocacy, research and evidence. He has been a core member of UNDP’s advocacy on risk and climate, including the World Conference on DRR, Financing for Development Forum and Paris Climate Negotiations.
Before UNDP, Jan was a senior research advisor at ODI, where he was a member of the climate and environment programme. During his two years, Jan worked on influential aspects of risk management, climate adaptation, aid financing, institution capacity, resilience, transition and fragility. Prior to ODI, Jan led the Global Humanitarian Assistance programme at Development Initiatives, focusing on detailed information on aid.
Before this, Jan spent 10 years for the UN in 15 diverse post-crisis contexts, as senior advisor. He has also worked for 6 years for HSBC and once turned down a job with GCHQ.
Jan has an undergraduate degree in media arts and master’s in civilization and barbarism.
